Pachman was the first chess grandmaster to truly publicly endorse, investigate and recommend computer chess. Pachman played eight tournament games against Bobby Fischer, finishing with an even score. His most famous game is his win over Bobby Fischer in Chile in 1959.

About the Author
Ludek Pachman was born in Czechoslovakia on May 11, 1924. The most successful year of his career was 1959. After winning the Czechoslovakian championship he went on a South American tour, winning tournaments in Mar del Plata (tied with Miguel Najdorf), Santiago, Chile (tied with Borislav Ivkov) and Lima, Peru (again tied with Ivkov). On this tour he beat the 16-year-old Bobby Fischer twice. Pachman made an even lifetime score against Fischer, +2 ?2 =4 In spite of his great accomplishments as a player, Pachman is now remembered primarily as a writer and teacher. He is credited with writing more than 60 chess books. This book, in three volumes, is considered his master work. Ludek Pachman died on March 6, 2003 in Passau, Germany

This has all 48 Feeling etudes for sax or oboe in a solid, well published book. It also comes with some duets/trips for oboes or saxophones. However this is the "1st oboe" or "1st sax" part so if you want to play the duets with others, they have to have the other part to play it. The paper inside the copy is the same kind that this publisher used for all its big book scores: its a bit dark and thin, but pencil writes well on it. A good purchase. Every serious sax player should study these etudes.

Julia Maria Aguirre is assistant professor of education at the University of Washington Tacoma. Her work focuses on mathematics teaching and learning, teacher education, and culturally responsive mathematics pedagogy, with a primary goal of strengthening access and advancement in mathematics education for historically marginalized youth. The National Science Foundation, Carnegie Foundation, and Spencer Foundation have funded her work.

Karen Mayfield-Ingram is associate director for the EQUALS programs at the Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California, Berkeley. Her work focuses on mathematics and equity professional development, teacher leadership, and parent involvement. She is the author of The Journey--Through Middle School Math (EQUALS, 2005) and co-editor of the EQUALS Middle School Investigations series.

Danny Bernard Martin is professor of education and mathematics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research focuses on understanding the salience of race and identity in black children s mathematical experiences. He is the author of Mathematics Success and Failure among African Youth (Erlbaum, 2000), editor of Mathematics Teaching, Learning, and Liberation in the Lives of Black Children (Routledge, 2009), and co-editor of The Brilliance of Black Children in Mathematics: Beyond the Numbers and Toward New Discourse (Information Age, 2013).

Can Anker ever go wrong? Love the dim LED and charge indicator, Working Voltage Boost, and Power Filtering

First Impressions:
The first thing I noticed after taking the charger out of its protective sleeve, was the heft. This charger really must have a decent transformer inside of it. I have 4 port chargers that weigh less than this. Whether the weight is a transformer or heat sink its a win win in a charger.

Build:
The finish is glossy white with a matte grey front fascia. Luckily the white does not show fingerprints and the grey wont show scratches from the plugging of USB ends. The 2 prong wall 120V plug has a nice click when folding and unfolding and allows the charger to be plugged in either way. The charger is also no wider than a fruit named company's standard brick charger.

LED indicator light:
Quite the nice feature as a lot of phones charge faster with the screen off. As soon as a (likely) shunt resistor shows lack of voltage on the output, the light will return to blue indicating a full charge.

Heat:
Even with both ports under a (2+2) = 4A load, the charger only got slightly warm to the touch. The efficiency is great in this bad boy.

Voltage Boost:
Quite the nifty feature here, I have a resistive load tester and on a 1A load the charger output 5.08V but when a 2A load was present which will increase voltage drop in a cable, the output voltage was boosted to 5.15 volts to compensate. Very cool.

Filtering:
It also seems that very clean power is output by this charger. I don't have an oscilloscope but large capacitance almost always show a clean output. I was able to unplug the charger and have my output monitor stay lit for almost 5 seconds. Quite a few millifarads here.

Most importantly, the output:
iPad Air 2 with screen on playing video: 1.87A
iPad Air 2 with screen off : 1.77A
Samsung Note 4 with screen on: : 1.15A
Samsung Note 4 with screen off : 1.29A

Final Thoughts:
From an electrical engineer's perspective, this is THE charger for anyone with an Apple product

Please remember this charger DOES NOT support Qualcomm's "Quick Charge" protocol

Hey there fellow nerds and non-nerds!

I used a Drok USB Ammeter/Voltmeter...

DROK USB 2.0 Digital Multimeter, Ammeter Voltmeter Capacitance & Watt Meter, 7 Modes Multi Tester, DC 3A 12V Amp Voltage Power Meter, Charging System Tester, Fast Charging and Data Sync Dual USB Ports

... to compare this Anker 2-Port USB charger against three other 5V USB chargers, tested back-to-back, while under the heavy load of an iPad 3 showing its battery at a 14% state of charge.

The Anker outperformed the other three chargers, maintaining a slightly higher than 5V output (at 5.16V) - which helps to overcome a 5V battery's internal resistance, especially as it approaches 100% charge - topping it off - while essentially matching the current delivered by the Apple iPad 3 charger (2.02 Amps vs. 2.03 Amps), but offering two USB ports instead of only one. Nice!

Note that simultaneously charging an iPhone 6s with the Anker’s 2nd USB port had no impact on the measurements taken while charging the iPad 3 on the 1st port. In other words, the Anker's two USB ports appear to be independent - one port is not "weakened" in either amps or volts when the other port is also in use. Nice!

Fire Hazard

I bought this product in December 2016 (it is now May 2017) and within 5 months of occasional use, it's begun to spark when used. I have always plugged it into a surge protector when in use and only use it for an hour or two at a time, usually only using 1 port but will occasionally use it with both ports for two devices. Now if I try to plug it in it will make popping noises, the light will flash from blue to green and then off, and it will send off small and large sparks. I have not left it plugged in long enough to see if it would catch fire but it likely would have. Beware!!
