A great textbook

This is a textbook on the subject of disaster recovery. As with all textbooks they provide valuable information. You wouldn't want a surgeon that didn't use one. However there is another side. As with your old college textbooks it is sort of boring to read. A few more real world stories might have sparked things up.
This is a book for the surgeons of the disaster recovery field. This field is a field growing in importance over the past 10 years or so. More and more companies are developing, expanding, or enhancing their disaster recovery programs, departments, and policies. This need is reinforced by the daily newspapers that talk about this disaster or that disaster. That statistics say that if you don't bounce back from these common daily disasters within at least 30 days you don't come back. That has reinforced the urgency of the program. If that fact is burned into your head then this book is for you.
This urgency I am sure has put people into difficult circumstances. Someone misses a meeting and they find themselves the head of their company's disaster recovery program. This is the book for you then. This book is very comprehensive. It covers things most books forget. Any person that just reads the book will be ahead of 70% of people in the field. The book is that good. It gives you that critical information you need to at least keep your head above water. The book doesn't write the plan for you but it lays out a map. The book covers the basics. It sort of lays out a checklist of things to remember. The big things are sort of easy like put out the fire. The book explains the secondary things that can ruin your day if they go wrong. These are the things like human resources, power distribution, computers, data backup, alternate sites, and scores of other things.
So if your work is in disaster recovery this book is for you.
